Meet the Team
Shihan Sandra Louw has dedicated over 50 years to the art of karate, building a lifetime of experience, discipline, and leadership within the martial arts community. As South Africa’s only WKF Seniors World Champion, she brings a rare level of expertise and understanding to her teaching.
At SLK, she leads with a focus on developing strong character, confidence, and resilience in every student. Her approach goes beyond technique, emphasising personal growth, discipline, and the ability to carry these lessons into everyday life.
Through her guidance, SLK continues to shape individuals who are not only skilled in martial arts, but stronger in mindset, behaviour, and purpose.

Sensei
Chaz Habib
5th Dan
Sensei Chaz has trained in karate for over 33 years, all under the direct guidance of Shihan Sandra Louw. He is also a bodybuilding champion and experienced fitness coach, leading physical transformation training through BodyGrid at SLK, which includes group classes, personal training, and an on-site supplement store.
As an instructor, he is known for his patience, positive attitude, and ability to work well with students of all ages, especially children. He creates a structured, supportive training environment built on discipline, focus, and confidence.
His strengths lie in simplifying techniques, building strong fundamentals, and helping people develop both physical and mental resilience.

Sempai
Marisa Rosa
4th Dan
Sempai Marisa has been training in karate for over 17 years under the guidance of Shihan Sandra Louw. She plays a key leadership role at SLK as dojo manager, overseeing daily operations and maintaining high technical and training standards across the academy.
She is highly experienced in teaching tiny tots and beginner students, with a strong ability to break down complex techniques into simple, practical steps that support clear learning and progression.
Alongside her karate instruction, she also leads personal training and SLKickbox classes for both men and women, and runs her own health coaching business, WMS, within the SLK umbrella.
Known for her attention to detail, innovation, and structured approach to coaching, she helps students and clients develop confidence, discipline, and long-term physical and technical growth.

Sempai
Tamryn Chan Wing
4th Dan
Sempai Tamryn has been training at SLK for 16 years under the direct guidance of Shihan Sandra Louw. She began her journey in the SLKickbox ladies classes at the age of 16 and has since grown into an integral part of the SLK instructor team.
She is known for her calmness, patience, and consistently positive attitude, creating a supportive and encouraging training environment for students, especially within the ladies SLKickbox classes, which she also assists in teaching.
An active competitor in tournaments, she brings both practical experience and disciplined training insight into her coaching, helping students develop confidence, fitness, and strong fundamentals.
